Cool finds going thru Dad's collection

I've been cataloging my Father-in-Law's modest coin collection. He had a white paper cent-roll taped with masking tape and old scotch tape labeled 1941-1963 (62). I just figured it was a bunch of mixed Lincoln Wheats & Memorial cents. It was interesting to find a complete short-set of 1941-1958 Lincoln Wheats with the first 5 years of Lincoln Memorials included.

OK not your typical grandfather's collection. But although it's not a serious collector's coins I thought it was cool. I bet these have been in that wrapper for 44 years. And some look pretty nice.

I just find it interesting to see what novice collectors chose to collect and how they stored them long ago and almost forgotten. I found all unique dates wrapped up in this 27 year-old crossword puzzle newspaper clipping. Mostly 20's and 30's and including a 1909 VDB.
