Ebay Topic - disputed sale

I just closed a disputed sale and now I know that you can leave feedback even though the sale does not take place! Story goes like this - a guy bids on my item and doesn't pay or contact me, so after a week I file a non paying bidder and low and behold here he comes saying "Oh my son just bought the same thing from someone else so I don't want the one from you" the dispute is upheld, we close the item and I get my FVF credit. No harm done, just annoying and a waste of time. The item is already relisted and I expect it to sell. But the crazy thing is he leaves me positive feedback, I would have thought that ebay would suspend the feedback on disputed items. It makes a mockery of the feedback system. There is nothing to stop him leaving negative feedback as far as I can see.

Did you all know about this loop hole with non paying bidders still being able to leave feedback even though the admit they won't pay?

Some men have no honor. You should be glad that he leaves you positive feedback instead of negative. Understand your frustration though. I don't believe ebay is doing anything to earn their money.

That is quite bizarre, Dr. J. I thought feedback was unavailable in these situations.

I thought you could only leave one feedback per transaction. Block him first, and then you can NEG him.

Seriously, I would at least block him from further bidding on your items.

So the system works for honest people. It wouldn't have worked with a dishonest one, but what feedback system will?
