Ok, I have to say it...I like the new registry setup as well

I don't normally embrace change, unless something is broken, so I have just FINALLY gotten into the registry to make changes (due to Fairlaneman and Onlyroosies sending us some Roosevelts for my son's infant registry set...thanks guys!).

At first, I didn't like it as I couldn't find anything.....but, it only took a few minutes, literally, to figure out a lot of it and see how useful it is.

* I can add coins much easier.
* I can add pictures much easier
* I can add multiple pictures (front/back and don't have to do composite photos and only do 1 )
* It gives the PCGS Guide's value estimate
* Very easy to create a set....I just added inventory and added the Roosevelts and had it create a set from the best available....super easy
* Same thing for the IHC Proofs.....just created the set after adding all the coins we have.
* Very simple, quick, inventory listing
* All sets created seen at a quick glance

There are likely more, but that is a quick glance at what I like so far.

Kudos to BJ and the team that did this (developers, PMs, etc)!!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I agree, the 'new' registry is sweet!
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!

After you get the hang of it the process is very nice and much better. Now if we could just get more people to insert pictures.

I'm trying man, I'm trying. I still need to image the coins that you sent my son and put those in. I have a ton that I need to enter in for the other stuff.

Yep, it took me a little time, but I now "get it" and think it is real easy, and a great improvement. image

Ron you have had your sons sets up for only a couple of weeks and have some pictures. The HINT was for some of the other guys that have had sets up for ages. The Roosie section has very few sets with pictures.

Nor do I, and I absolutely hated v2 at first. But, it's grown on me.

  • I like it as well, its much better and easier to add coins to multiple sets which use to be a pain in the arse. My only beef if that they have a Microsoftish (sorry Boch) way of committing things, when I say commit, or delete, I don't need to be asked 3 friking times if I am sure. Yes, I pressed "commit" not "I may be commiting but I may change my mind".

    I like the new setup.

It has some really cool features to it and can be a lot of fun to play around with.

The WHAT IF feature is really fun on a lot of different levels; not the least of which is while trolling the bay you can get a frame of reference for value while looking at the pops all in one screen.
    I like it.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have different remarks in the comments box for a coin that's listed in more than one set???

My guess is no but a query here setregistry@pcgs.com should get you an answer.

I am liking it for the inventory, tracking of purchase cost, source and date. And these ease of creating new sets....

This is not possible but you can have different set comments on the sets.
  • I like the new changes allot but I spent 2 days digging though old PM's, Pay pal, and E-bay tracking down data for the purchase cost, source and date of the coins in my Kennedy set I found everything except data on 12 coins not bad out of 79 coins. Sure was a fun trip finding it all.

Dan that sounds like a snap.

    My Inventory:
    Total Coins: 664

They are all in there now.
  • Sly - 79 coins was bad enough but can not think of doing 664 coins. I keep track of price but not the rest of it. Need to get to work on my Type set next.

I like the inventory (quick, at a glance, for all my PCGS coins, and I have started putting a source/date) but all the info, incl cost, I keep in a local (and backed up) XLS locally.
No one else needs that data and I don't trust any company enough, especially online, to keep their eyes out of my data. Regardless of the fact that I am inconsequential to PCGS (low level).

Super cool to do the "add best coin" feature though...and how easy it is to add many coins at once.
