First hammered purchase. How'd I do?

No, I wasn't hammered when I bought it image, I just bought my first hammered coin, an Elizabethan shilling. It was cheap and I liked the appearance, especially the hint of coloring around the periphery.

The obverse is considerably more worn (or more weakly struck) than the reverse. I don't know if these were normally well or poorly struck. It has a little hit on the reverse which mars the coin a bit, but for $36 shipped I didn't think the coin looked too bad.

So did I do ok or screw the pooch?

Pretty good IMO. The portrait on these coins is usually sucky.
