New Rossie Pics on my 1968 Set - Also new pics of My 68-P and 68-S Lincolns.

I uploaded some new pics to my 1968 set. The POP 3/0 68-P in 67FB and the 4/0 68FB 68-D. I also uploaded some pics of my Lincolns. Thoughts on which pictures are better for the 68-P and 68-S Lincolns?

That's a terrific set, Brian...and nice photos all around. I believe I prefer the second(lower) set on both Lincolns. However, I still believe the nicest pic is the last one in the set image
  • Awesome set! I gotta love those Lincolns. image I'd like one of each, please. image

  • It's too bad the 68-d I got from you doesn't have as nice a strike as yours. Too bad you couldn't get a second ms67 68-p graded! I think I may have a better 68-s than you. Can't say for sure from a photo of course. Anyway, you definitely not only have the best 1968 set, but the best year set anyone has! (at least post 1934).
  • I agree. AWESOME COINS. The bottom set of photos that you have for the 68-P and 68-S are hands down the best. The color seems to be much closer to what they would be "in hand".

Don't take this the wrong way...but there seems to be just a hint of bluriness in those photos for some reason. Are you using a "macro" function on your camera? When I ran into this same problem (when using macro), I tried moving the camera a little closer OR a little farther away. It might make a huge difference and make the pictures much more focused.

Thanks again for sharing. That set is crazy. I'd love to see those things in person...pictures just do not do them justice AT ALL.

I'd also love to see what Phil Arnold could do with those coins too.image

  • There is some bluriness in the photos. I can't figure out how to get them more clear. I am using the Macro function. If you look at the first 68-P it is clear but the color is way off. I am probably 14 inces away on the photos, if I get any closer I can't get them in focus at all.

    Who is Phil Arnold?
  • Ohhh, I have been meaning to get my a pedigee on them. That would be the time to get true view pictures.

    Brian,

Use a copy stand, or tripod, and a timer. If you zoom in to where it gets blurry, zoom out one or two times. Should stabilize it. May still look "not as close" as you want, but try it image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

With a set like that, you should absolutely have the pedigree done. And you're right, that would be the opportune time to have TrueView done. You'd already be in for the postage...and while they're out for reholdering, the photo cost wouldn't be much.

Didn't I read somewhere that PCGS would not pedigree post 65 (ie) modern coins?
    Dan
  • Of course they will, I have Richard Green Kennedy Halves. Why would you worry about pedigree unless you are going to sell them? (I'll buy them image )
  • I figured out the focus thing, I turned off the Digital zoom and brought the camera closer. Its great for the lincolns but not so good with the Silver. It washes out the luster. Thoughts

Brian talk to Russ, he's making great pictures and would likely be able to give you some pointers. image

Really nice. I especially like the Philly quarter and the half. They're all great.
