I love when I snipe for 1 cent, but for 1 cent at 1 second. This has to be some sort of record.

I assume you use a software program to do that. I got outbid by a sniper for 4-cents.

How can you do that? That is enter a bid amount that is not at the proper bidding increment? Software? And how is it that eBay allows that?

I've never tired bidding on an item below the next bid increment, so I suppose it can't be done manually.

Looks like the auction was sitting at something like $24.75. The high bidder going into the close of the auction had a max bid of $30 but the auction was at $24.75. Therefore, the next bid incriment of 50 cents (or whatever) would be less than $30. Therefore a snipe of $30.01 is greater than the 50 cent required bid incriment.

I also add a few more cents. If the underbidder had added 3 cents you'd have been outsniped by .02.

I used to do that but got tired of trying to be by the computer.

AuctionSniper is the only way to go for me now.

I never snipe for more than I am willing to pay. So if I would have lost so-be-it. Someone would have wanted it more than I.

Smoetimes when I bit too early I feel like smoeone sees that I am bidding and bids. I have learned to be patient (unless I won't be around when the auction ends, and in that case I will just take my chances--I actually lose more that way)

Thanks to Esnipe.com I won 3 nice coins this evening.
I set them to go 5 seconds before close.
Beat one tonight by 4 seconds.
Only lost one to someone by $2 more than my max. He did me a favor as I was higher than I should have been on that coin. I should write him a thank you note for the $50 plus he saved me.

Bet sml huggy ain't too happy tonight. For him, it was a penny late and second short.

I bid much the same way. I lose a lot of them. There's a bit of a rush to watching those seconds tick off. It's addictive.

Nice. Though this is why I always add a few random cents to my snipes. If I'm thinking my high is $30, I can probably handle $30.58 or even $31.39 or something like that. It's too easy for someone thinking $30 to be taken out with a bid like your $30.01.

$30.01 was my limit. A few years ago I sniped an 1916-D Dime for 1 cent.
