Todd Helton to the Red Sox...maybe

I was listening to Fox Sports this morning and they mentioned the Red Sox and Colorado were talking about a Helton for Lowell trade.
Anyone else hear anything about this possible trade?

    That blows -- I like Lowell.

    Can't they keep a player more than one year? This friggin musical chairs every year is not working.

    Lowell for Helton is a bad trade. Helton is getting old quick and Lowell is one of the best defensive thirdbasemen in the MLB, plus he isn't exactly a weakness at the plate. I hope that Theo is stupid enough to make this trade.

    Lowell is in his last year of a contract and everything I have read today is Colorado will have to take Clement too. 19 million off the sox payroll plus the Rockies will pick up some of Helton's contract in exchange for a pitcher like Manny Delcarmon.

    If that is the basic deal, then I would pull the trigger on the trade.

    Boston Globe didn't report the Clement part of the trade. It would be GREAT to see him go!

    so that means Youklis goes to third. real downgrade defensively.
    but..getting rid of Clement. hmm. what a toss up!
