Raw or Slabbed, My friend

the 69/69/69 FS together with

the 70/70/69 FS will be tyhe strongest.

The non FS and the ungraded will be

somewhat behind the first two.

Do you not think the raw set will have some relevance

The value of the raw set long term may not

be too promising.

1. Raw sets will have been cherry picked
so the likelyhood of a 70 will be nill.

2. Buying sealed sets will be like buying sealed
proof sets on the secondary market. It is possible
that they are origonal, its just not likely.

I disagree with Bear. There are plenty of people, like myself, who want to purchase an actual "set"...not three coins in plastic. Raw sells will do quite well.

I'm not going anywhere in the near future so I will be holding on to both raw and slabs for awhile. I see this set going up over the next few years. The State Quarters added alot of people to coin collecting and I think the Presidential series will do the same. Sooner or later they will come a knocking! IMHO

I think the best value is to buy the non FS, non 20th anniversary 2006-w Silver eagles in PCGS MS-69 (or 20th anniversary at a good price). I believe eventually through registry sets and overall scarcity that these will rise in price and the First strikes will go down in price and they'll come closer to meeting, similar to the other first strikes currently available.

The mintage of these is no more then some of the proofs that are selling for above 200 in the 1993-1995 range and these 2006-w things will be in greater demand then those proof coins are/were. Buy low, sell high. If you've got a FS coin, I'd sell it and buy about 4 of the regular ones with your money. This is just for the uncirculated specimen, not the full set, as that's the (really) undervalued one.

It never hurts to buy them raw either, but if you can get them in a PCGS 69 slab for only 10 bucks more, go for it. The mintage is only 250,000+180,000 either way.

Whatever you decide, now's not a good time to sell because ebay's being flooded with dealers selling them. Gotta wait until they're distributed out a bit more and there's less for sale. Now's the time to buy (the non FS issue sets/slabs)

Yes I did say they would go down after Chrismas, Thinking all the ones leaving the mint. I was WRONG on that one. I stand corrected.
