Different Year-Same Photograph-Who appears the most?

As we all know Topps sometimes used the same photo year after year just cropped diferently or a different background-here are some examples

1967 and 1969 Brooks Robinson and 1969 Topps Super
1968 and 1969 Aaron
1960 and 61 Mays (hat on, hat off)
1965 and 1968 Mays
1954 ,1955 and 1956 Aaron??? Iam guessing -dont have the cards in front of me
1967 The Champs and 1968 Birdie Belters-Brooks and Frank Robby-Shot on the same day-with Bauer w/o Bauer

There are many many more-Can anyone come up with a player that had the same photo used more than 3 times-if I am correct on the Aaron 54,55,56 and the 1968,1969 and 1969 Topps Super Brooks cards (I know Iam correct about the Brooks cards)

Any Photo used 4 or more times???????????

Comments

  • I think that Topps used the same head picture of Elmer Valo for 54/55/56 Topps. I also have three Kevin Brown cards from 2003 Donruss/Leaf sets that are all the same.

I know the 69 Topps Super of Bob Gibson has the same photo as the 69 Topps Decal. I think that photo is used even more than that, but I can't think of which card.

My guess is a photo was used 6 different times-with all those checklist and inserts in the 60s I am guessing the answer is going to be at least 6. Scott
  • I know one that was used twice in a row, not sure if there's a third.

Topps gave the Ted Williams head shot a good run in the 50's.

  • Bobby Orr is the worst case I can think of. He has three or four of his images, probably appear on three or four cards each. Some even more.

There is a set of All Pro cards in the scarce third series of 1972 Topps football. That's the (rather lackluster, IMHO), look...especially when compared to the stellar design of the rest of the set.

He has Pro Action card from that set and his regular card pictures him in his Colts uniform on the sideline, I think at Shea Stadium, as does his '73 card, albeit with a slightly different image. I couldn't find a 1974 card for him in a cursory eBay search.

I believe Topps used the same head shot on a lot of the cards in the 54, 55 and 55 set. Aaron and Kaline come to mind.

I should have thought of the Carew card-that was a good one!
So Rod Carew is in the lead with 9 !!!!
Carew is on the 68 action sticker panel-did they use the same shot ? It could make it 10.
  • The top row of Carew appears to be a different photo then the bottom row.

  • Not as many, but I know the 63 Rose rookie, 64 topps, 67 Punchout, and 68 Bazooka all use the same photo.

The 69 decal and 66 Topps appear to have the same photo.
The 69 Super and 69 poster have the same photo.
The 67 topps and 68 batting leaders have the same.

I also noticed the 68 Sporting News cover and 69 SI poster are the same image.

keeping my ears open for oddball cards of Rose from the 60's and 70's.
