Transylvania Thalers/Sigismund Bathori

I notice a difference in type/variety between those struck, for example. between the ones dated 1592 and 1597 (which has a cross in the right obverse field and the crown above the ships on reverse is different).

Anybody know where I can find which date/variety is the scarcer type or the history of these coins?

Thanks,

I'm in Geneva today and just bought a 1965 reprint of Adolf Resch's 1901 catalog of Transylvanian coins, including die varieties and extensive illustrations. Although rarity estimates are not listed, it seems an essential reference for those with an interest in the series.
