Sosa back in baseball -- rangers minor league contract

Assuming he makes the major league roster and cranks out the dozen or so homers needed to get him to 600--will this redeem him or make him look even more of a fool than he did in 2005? Can Sosa redeem himself on the field (McGwire, Palmiero won't get the chance)?

Whats there left to redeem? Most would say Sosa would not even be close to 400 HRS let alone 600 had he not done the Juice. Personally I could care less if the guys Juice or not, I like Bonds and titanic Hr # 's, but in fairness to the guys in Aaron's day the juiced up #'s have little to no value.

Sosa redeem Himself?? For what,, living in the day of better living thru chemistry?? True He bulked quite a bit (ever see His rookie card) but when Life is lived, What 20 years longer, Breast sizes get larger!!(Oh Ya) How can We compare Nowadays to the past? Our Parents didn't have half the medication (Viagra for one ask Palmiero) We do. Just when did steroids become illegal. They were legal in everyday life and used in almost every gym, before our awareness of the harm caused by these med. Stats from this time, should be taking with a grain of salt. But didn't the pitchers also use them? Sosa flat out lied about His use of them (meds) That is His only fault.

Except for the fact he was also caught with a corked bat. So maybe you can't get him for using roids (like everyone else), but I'd think that the cork in itself is enough to say he's a cheater, hang em up Sammy.

Sosa is a whiner and a cheater. He'd be nothing if he hadn't juiced up and used corked bats in HR haven Wrigley Field.

Sosa is going to need the juice to hit a dozen homers this year. lol

He can go back to using the corked bat again, so long as it doesn't break apart and pieces fly all over the field...

He only used that corked bat during batting practice to entertain the fans by hitting the ball out more. That's all it was. It was just dumb luck that the bat got mixed in with the game bats.

Palmeiro had been thinking of coming back. He only started using steroids after his testimony in Congress. He was clean in years prior to that with the random testing going on. No, he did not perjure himself during the congressional hearing because the steroids discovered in his body later could not have stretched back to the time before the hearing.

McGwire has never been tested positive for steroids. He took a legal substance that was later banned in baseball, but not while he was using it.
