looks like an Edward I to me, but then the Edward I-III pennies are so close, I often can't tell them apart. BUT.. there are people on this board who can identify an Edward II or III by the style of the crown, so maybe they'll weigh in
I would say Edward I a well. Edward II the side fleurs of the crown will have two elements instead of three. Also the legend will normally start with EDWA.
This coin has Roman N's, so that rules out Edward III. It has a tri-foil fleurs, so that rules out Edward II and Edward I after Class 8. Because of the small lettering I think it is Class 1c which would date it to May-December of 1279.
