In Memory of BigIndie

Those of you who have been here since 2004 will remember BigIndie's (Mike Dalzell) posts. It's hard to believe he's been gone 3 years today, but for his friends and family, he lives on in numismatist heaven. Oreville and I worked on a commemorative set for his wife Heather and his son James. PCGS was most gracious in slabbing the memorial coins below and a lot more (1974 and 2004 proof sets).

The gorgeous wooden cases were provided gratis by one of the board members, Solid. The workmanship is exquisite.

Oreville drove up here to Central NY to present the coins and Heather was most touched by not only this but all the kind comments left by our members on the original thread. BigIndie's Passing

What a kick in the head. Though I never really knew BigIndie, I was thinking about him too a few days ago. Never heard a bad word about him on the forums.

That's very touching. Thanks for sharing that with us. BigIndie should be an inspiration to many people. In spite of his circumstances, he was a very positive, motivated, kind, and cheerful person.

Chiefbob has been a great friend of BigIndie's family.

What nice immediate, extended family and friends.

I felt blessed that day when I had the opportunity to represent PCGS as well as the board members.

In a wierd way, I hope everyone here gets the opportunity to experience what I felt that day.
