Grade my Seated half

It's not certified, so there is no "answer." Coin hasn't been wiped or polished, so grade it like it's nice & original. Photo was taken through plastic 2 x 2. If you are truly a Seated half fanatic, then attribute its WB variety, too. You've got to love these in nice circ. grades, especially the better dates- they are a truly undervalued segment of the coin market.

I wonder why the mint mark punches were so huge on the half dollars compared with those used on the dollars.

I grade it VF-35, although VF-30 is not out of the question on a tough day at PCGS. XF-40 is a stretch. However, I only paid about $100 for it, and these S-mint coins from the 1860's are difficult to find without cleaning or damage. Even the ones that look original in photos have usually been wiped pretty good when one receives them (and back they go!).

A really nice better date example.
Seriously, it hasn't been cleaned & retoned. It's a picture of the coin through plastic.
