Pre 1945 Stamps

My friend has about 20 or 30 stamps ,some are canceled and some are not.They are from Indo-China-China and Japan..Some go far back as the 1880's.Would these stamps have any real Value?I would appreciate any information from the experts.

    If you can get the Scott#s, I can give you the cat value from 2000. The 1880s issues could have value. Also condition is a big factor.

    Doug:Thank you for the reply.The Scotts you are referring to,is that a stamp collectors book?

    The Scott Catalogue is a six volume price guide issued annually. It is one of, if not the most valuable books a collector can buy. The six volumes are broken up by country, thus volume 1 is US and countries A-B, volume 2 is countries C-F, etc. Each volume is about $50.00, but in my opinion, well worth it. Scott also issues a Specialized Catalogue that contains prices on plate blocks, booklets,etc.
