What do you think about cross-linking all our web-sites?

I understand that cross-linking your site with other sites is a great way to increase your standing with the various search engines.
Having "key-words" on your Index page is another way to increase your "search-ability."
If we were all to add a "favorite links" page on our sites, linking with all the others here, we could dramaticly boost our standing with the search engines, which should boost the traffic to all our sites!
What do you all think about it?
