Are your coin goals specific..??

Do you stray from your goals such as your sets to other coins or do you stay on target..??
Maybe a purchase of another coin or coins not related to your set or sets..??

On the plus side; I do have the sets to keep me semi-focused.

I stray all the time, but usually only when I know I can get out even or at a profit, and I sell lots of my strays. About the coins I buy with the intent to actually keep, I am pretty disciplined.

For the first time in my collecting life my goals are very specific. I know exactly what direction I want to go with my primary collecting interest, what other series that I will pursue and specific non-series coins that I "must" have. At least that's how I feel today. Please don't start the same thread tomorrow.

Sometimes I stray and purchase a coin or two that I think that don't go into my sets. But they're usually inexpensive coins that either get sold or traded later on, or become the basis for my next sets.

I'm aiming for the side of the barn and I'm on the inside.

Haven't missed yet. But then I don't mind getting a little loft, door, or floor once in a while too.

Over the short term, yes. The long term plan is more general but I know where I want to go with it. It is subject to change, though.
