  • Not my card, its on Yahoo.

Running joke (well semi truth) that GEM grades everything a 10. I own a few GEM 10 copies that are 7 at best. Also GEM states on their website they dont authenticate. What a joke they are. I once dropped my pencil in my submission package to them and it came back slabbed as a authentic GU mini bat.

Plus there was once a GEM "employee/owner" selling their GEM cards (all 10's) online. Never proved to my knowledge but fairly obvious.

I bought a Gem 10 Fleer Griffey RC for 8 bucks. I wanted to have a Gem "exemplar" - hopefully fake.

I was hoping it was counterfeit - but only trimmed - on the bottom - the thing that's interesting - the card measures correct.

Were the 89 Fleers prone to being oversized? The bottom edge of the card is curled over and the back is chewed up - the guy musta used a very dull exacto?

edit: here's a scan of part of the bottom: nice bevelled edge - huh? image

Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
  • I pulled some 89's from racks that were taller but I might of mixed them with others I had so Im not 100% sure. I also had some 89's that were wider. Unsure if hand cut or ??

  • Looks like possible factory set curl
  • Actually looks very normal for that set of cards from Fleer, stock was very thick which caused those effects.
