I think the Eagles should trade away McNabb, sign Garcia to a decent one-year deal and get a young QB in the fold who has a shot to be their future. Let him work with Garcia and the coaching staff that first year, and hopefully, he might be able to step in during the second year.
At this point, I think it's time to think about the future at QB for Philly. Garcia is a serviceable stopgap between now and the time the "heir apparent" may be ready.
I wouldnt sell the farm on McNabb just yet, the guy was off to a phenominal season before the injury. He is a great QB and is still under 30 I believe so he has more in the tank. I would stick with him.
Reid has wholeheartedly supported McNabb every time I've seen Reid speak and in every comment I've ever read from Reid - with no reservation whatsoever. Any reports that the Eagles are thinking of trading McNabb are bogus.
Maybe McNabb is a little unhappy. Frankly, that is most likely because he is frustrated with his injuries.
The Eagles are in a position to potentially have both McNabb and Garcia for the upcoming season. They should attempt to keep both at shore up other key positions. Great position to be in for a football club.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
I have heard that Minnesota is planning on making a trade offer. Personally I think most of this is garbage, but there is a small amount of truth in everything.
