Grades Popped...Happier than Last Time

In December I posted my grades where I got like 31 out 34 cards (1950's-60's baseball) graded as 8's when I thought I had a least a few 9's. Well, I sent in another December Special submission, many from my ungraded Detroit Tiger collection and this time I got 10 9's out of 39 cards. What I am thrilled about is that 3 of the 9's were 1957's and one was a 1959. At the end of a long day at work, PSA made my day!

Hard to complain about that one! You either have an incredible eye or an incredible collection. Either way congrats.

Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

On your 1962 Post cereal Ernie Banks - were you expecting a lot better grade? I have noticed that it must be extremely hard to get a high grade on these. On my Dec. submission I sent a 1961 Nelson Fox and a 1961 Duke Snider. I felt the Fox to be a PSA 7 and the Snider to be a PSA 8. Both came back PSA 6. Both were perforated cards. I left the little perf tabs of which some were hanging off the card 1/8" - not sure if some people trim those back or not. I have not seen many comments on the Post cards here - maybe someone could offer some advice. Rick

    Rick:
I thought that 1962 Post Ernie Banks was a sure 8 with an outside chance at a 9. When I get it back I will most likely find a crease that I didn't notice. The Post cards are hard to speculate on....there seems to be a waxy surface on them that shows any scuff, scratch, etc. My guess is that the "waxiness" is just being part of a cereal box back in 1962. But I'm no expert on Post Cereal cards, just thought this one was outstanding.
