Crossover opinions needed

Does anyone have any experience with sending SGC graded cards to PSA as a crossover? I am thinking about buying the card I have pictured, but I am trying to keep my collection to PSA, BVG & BGS NM 7 or better. Do you think if I sent this card in to PSA it would grade at least a 7? All opinions welcomed and I do use them to decide what to do. Thank you, Jim

looks like an 8 minimum. i'd think an sgc 9 would at least cross into a psa 7. being 3 grades off would be a little unusual.

Personally I like SGC better than BVG or BGS.

8 or 9, is my guess.

    EDITED TO ADD:

I missed the tilt. It is not that bad. Might mean an 8, though.

  • if it were me, why accept less than a 9? I would put 9 in the column for minimum crossover unless for some reason you think a PSA 8 is acceptable to you.

Ugly 9 to me with that tilt ...
but PSA would probably give it the same grade.

    Why wouldn't they?

I would not crack it out.

I would send it in the slab, and ask for a minimum 9.

If they say "no," you can crack it and send it raw.
It is likley a sure 8, and you would get another chance at a 9.

It is at least a PSA 7.

  • That card is a definite PSA 8 or better. The centering is almost perfect other than a slight tilt, and all 4 corners look very nice. A grade of 8 would be minimum, but a 9 is a very good possibility.
  • Thank you so much for replying to my posting and for all of your opinions. I appreciate each and every one of them. You are all great people and I feel luck to be able to come here and get such great help. I am going to buy the card and keep it in the slab it is in for now.

    Thanks again, Jim

I'm hardly the expert here , but the corners look soft especially the lower left. ---- 7
