All I can say Julian is that this seller sells a ton of raw early commemorative halfs. Everyone that I have seen is 100 percent white just like it was minted yesterday. Just makes me a little skeptical.

Be careful here. This guy is a great photographer. The coins are mostly cleaned. He does (or did have) a return policy however. You will spend a lot in postage sending these back. Dave W

I have bought PCGS slabbed Morgans from him with no problem. However, other buyers haven't been very happy with his raw coins.

Nearly ALL his raw coins are dipped out crap. Run Forrest, Run!!

There are better sellers out there -- this one is a good one to exclude from ebay searches, since he has so much crap listed (although "ernie" and "ebwcoin" top my list of sellers to exclude from searches based on sheer volume of crap coins listed on eBay).

Buy the holder, not the coin.

Anyone with a feedback rating of 99.9% and over 43,000 transactions can't be all that bad of a seller........

The feedback rating can be misleading. Two factors are at play here. First as I said he cheerfully accepts returns as he did with me. Yeah! I fell for the great pictures too. Secondly there are just so many people that cannot tell or don't bother to find out whether or not a coin has been cleaned or over dipped.
People like this seller can buy ugly unappealing coins dip them until they shine nice and pretty, take a juiced up photo, and sell them for far less than the market price for the advertised grade. As long as the buyers are fat, dumb and happy he'll continue to have soaring sales and positive feedback.
Common sense would seem to dictate that if the coins were true to grade they would be worth more in a major tpg holder. Furthermore where are all these supposed "choice" and "gem" raw coins coming from? Think about it and then if you insist, buy one and prove me wrong. Dave W
