With the scratches and the worn rims on the reverse I would call it a net Good. Retail is probably $50, wholesale probably around $35. Just my opinion.

The 1853/4 is a really neat variety.
I have an early die state coin in high grade that shows part of the diagonal of the 4.
Altogether I may have around 10 or 12 of these.
Years ago, they could be found by searching through dealers stock boxes at large shows.
So many people are going after varieties now, that they're getting tough to find.
What's it worth? Whatever someone will pay you for it.
Keep in mind the damage will greatly affect the value.
You're on the right track though. Collecting varieties of Seated Quarters will pay big dividends for you some day.
Want a really rare 1853? Look for the 1853/1853 repunched date.
Another is the 1853 doubled obverse die. Doubling in the verticle stripes of the shield and bottom (left) side of the shield outline. It's a class v doubled die.
