On my coin viewing monitors that I use for viewing coins.
<< <i>I would have bet good money on that myself last year... LCDs are getting so cheap now though, the average may be drifting up. >>
1024x768 is still tops by a sizable margin at about 60% of users. 1280x1024 has edged out 800x600 in the number two spot, though.

Running it on a 22" CRT. It's a true 22" as well. I've actually measured it. That's my primary machine.
Even though I've got a few flat panels, I still love the solid look of a high quality CRT.

I like my LCD but I still have a 19 inch Sony trueflat CRT that's my favorite for Photo editing.
On LCD screens I don't like the way color & contrast will appear to change as you move an image from the top of screen to the bottom.
But for crispness a good LCD is hard to beat (as long as you run it in its native resolution)

It looks to me that 1024x768 may still be the king today but the writing’s on the wall and it's saying wide screen is on it's way to #1. (At least among coin collectors.)
1280x1024 is pretty popular too but I don't think it will ever be tops as it's not a wide screen form factor. The good news (at least for me) is that 800x600 is definitely on the way out as I have a UI design that is optimized for vertical resolutions of 768 or greater and I was hoping few people were still in the 800x600 world as it results in unavoidable scrolling. A 12% showing is still higher then I had hoped for but by the time my app is done, it should be lower still. It’s also apparent that a good design will be able to take advantage or whatever horizontal space is available no matter what the form factor…
Thank you all for posting!
