The Pinnacle Collection, owned by forum member Reece, is now up for sale via Doug Winter. This was one of the finest New Orleans gold coin collections ever assembled. I have seen many of the coins in person and they were, as a group, terrific. I am sorry that my friend, Reece, has chosen to sell them. image Anyone interested in this area should check it out (but only after I have purchased what I need image ).

I met Reece at last years PCGS luncheon, very nice person, knowledgeable about his specialty and very much attached to his collection of great gold coinage. I am really surprised to hear he is selling? Wonder what propmpted this. More and more folks are continuing to sell collections of significance.

Hasn't a book on New Orleans gold just been published? Striking while the iron is hot.
