EBAYer sells $7.00 for $3.75.

I have a small box with about 40 SBA dollars and a few Sacagewea dollars that were given me as a gag gift for my 40th birthday. I wondered if I should try to sell them on EBAY.

From the results of this auction, it's probably not a great idea.

Looks like both the seller and buyer lost out on that one.

You can't sell coins worth face or melt on ebay or you lose shipping. I'm trying to help a friend who inherited a low grade collection (less than widgets) deal with this. --Jerry

Actually, eBay fees for this listing was $0.35 insert, plus $0.19 commiss. Paypal fees are $0.55. The fees total $1.09. Then $0.20 for a padded mailer, plus about $1.50 for mailing. These total $1.70. Mailing, plus fees equal $2.79, subtracted from $8.48 gives the seller a total of $5.69. Then, you have to include the time it takes to list the auction and all that stuff. image

Yes yes, how silly of me. But, you forgot gas to the PO $2.12, wear on tires of automobile $1.18, engine oil consumption $0.32, newspaper for packing material $0.35, ink to write on mailer $0.02 etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Do you have any more. I would like to buy some at that rate. Of course you would need to combine shipping. image
