Recommendation/Complaint re: Topps

I got this quote from another thread but thought it deserved its own.

I couldn't agree more. I wish Topps would stop using the "shiny" cards for its base set and go back to cardboard. I think they need to re-establish a nice base set that would be desired by collectors. I've seen some other Topps products (Heritage?) that look really nice.

I also have two complaints about the newer Topps cards:

1. Some (possibly all) have a tendency to stick together. I've opened factory sets and wax boxes where the cards are literally stuck together, some to the point to having to throw them out. This is also a warning for those of you that are saving factory sets unsealed. I've opened most of mine and graded the stars.

2. The Topps Home Team Advantage emblem on the cards. The sets that are purchased from a Topps Home Team Advantage dealer have a Home Team Advantage emblem on the card. It took me a while to figure it out but after opening a few I realized what the deal was. The box usually has a little HTA emblem (which is hardly noticeable) on it as well which indicates as such. Who wants this emblem on their cards? Anybody want to buy two 2003 Topps factory HTA sets (one opened, one sealed)? Send PM if interested.

Just my 2 cents.

Well, based on what card companies have done to the market?

    That "just" is now $12.50.

I agree with you 100% image

I also have noticed that the cards stick together cuz of the varnish.
