Yep, it was worn by him on 7/22/02 when the Braves and Marlins wore throwbacks. It's one of my most favorite jersey's since it is completely unwashed (all jersey's from TBTC games are recieved by MLB representatives directly after game). Has dirt stains all over and during the game he went 1 for 3 with a run and HBP.

Who needs the stinkin' door? He's got a cool room with windows!

LOL there's about a foot-and-a-half of room to get in so I'm good for now
  • nice photos. I'm a braves fan myself and collect mainly Big 3 items (maddux, glavine, smoltz). Do you have or have seen in the past items signed by all three pitchers? I've searched on ebay numerous times and nothing comes up with all three sigs on one item.

    Very cool.

I'm a Braves fan since 1990 when I was stationed at Ft. Gordon.

Unfortunately some of the nice GU jerseys of the guys I would like are out of my reach right now.

Chris Kuhlmann who used to post more here - gave me a nice Glavine auto ball that he got for some charity participation - that was very generous of him.

So, have ya got a game plan for your GU stuff? Who you collect? Which stuff? Do you have GU bats?

I have a few Braves bats - A. Jones and Ron Gant comes to mind.

Again, thanx for sharing - very nice!

Good luck on your future pick ups.

Very nice room, I'm jealous! image

I'm impressed with the way you have converted bookcases (I think thats what they are) into a locker. Very inventive and it looks great! I may have to try that myself. image

    Thanks for sharing the pics.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

Nice to see so many Bravos fans here.

Who owned the throwback helmet in the first pic?
  • majordanby---Actually my brother has one, I don't think he's selling it though. His boss played golf with Tom Glavine and somtimes other Braves players and he got him a World Series baseball signed by Glavine/Maddux/Smoltz. btw-Do you live in the Atlanta area? I know this signing that Smoltz has twice a year and it only costs about $5

stone193---Actually a lot of game used collectors love to poke fun at me because I actually don't have a focus on my collection. Whenever I find a decent item, of a decent player, and it's a decent price, then I'll get it. Doesn't matter who it is (they have to be decent though). But sometimes I love to get odd things, like for instance I have Gary Sheffield's Yankees socks, Miguel Tejada's undershirt, and Jose Guillen's belt. And about the bats---I do have only 6 right now and they're in the corners in the cases in the first pic.

Tedw9---Yep, they're bookcases. It's really really cheap when compared to other cases that you find at stores. Plus they're bigger too. After getting a bookcase at walmart for $30, a 72x36 piece of plexi glass at home depot for $40, and some double-sided tape for $6, the total cost is only $76.

GDM67--It's actually a hat. It was worn by Andruw Jones on 4/8/04 when the Braves wore throwbacks since it was the 30th anniversary of Hank Aaron passing the Babe. It was the first "big item" that I ever got.

The locker room appearance looks very nice, but I have to ask..what's a Braves fan doing with a Derek Jeter cardboard standup?

You know, that is a good idea I have never thought of that. I have collectibles in book cases and I am having to constantly dust them which I hate to do. How does this job due with the dust? Please tell me more!

Do you have any Braves bats.

I also have Tommy Glavine GU bat and R. Furcal - when he played for the Braves.

I would really like a GU Glavine Jersey - but like I said - that would be a bit high. I'ld even take it in a Mets uni!

  • DaBigHurt- It was on sale for only $15 at a post office in New York a couple years ago and I just couldn't resist. They're really big.

Mefer- Dust can sometimes get on the front of the case on the plexi glass but everything inside stays nice and clean.

Stone193- Right now I only have a Chipper Jones game used bat, Glenn Hubbard game used bat,Raul Mondesi game used 2006 bat, Edgar Renter game used bat, and a DeWayne Wise game used bat

  • We did this last year too, but most of the pictures are gone.

I took the same pictures one year later. Funny how some stuff hasn't moved all year, and other things are completely gone. If I had never sold anything I think that I might have had more stuff than barfvader, but I've spent the past 3 years or so slowly getting rid of action figures, baseball cards, die-cast cars of all sizes, magazines, newspapers, and lots of other things that I can't remember. My goal is to get to the Legos this year, of course, that was also last years goal. Almost done with the Hot Wheels, I think I have about 500 or so left to sell, which is pretty good considering that I started out with about 7000 cars. All of the Star Wars is also gone along with the 1/18 scale Ertls and who knows what else.

We're constantly changing the way it looks from time to time .
Those pics actually are two different times about 2 years ago .
It is different than those pics once again, the only place left is the ceiling.
The first we did it on the wall and it was ok , but then I got the bright idea of just hanging thick black oaktag on the wall with pins and then pinning the sheets to that and I think it makes it look a lot better PLUS ! I didn't have to paint the room image
Maybe I was just thinkin of a way to get out of painting the room ?
The subconscious mind is very strange and completly unpredictable .
    But it's fun .
I might mess with it today a bit .
