PLATINUM TRADE THREAD

Many have suggested, but I have not seen it put to a topic, a 2006-W PLAT trade thread...

As many are aware, it works like this -

We all are trying to complete sets of PCGS MS70 2006-W Platinums.....

Yet we all dont really want to sell outright....

So - if one forum member needs a certain denomination in PCGS MS70 ($10,$25,$50,$100) and another needs a different denomination in PCGS MS70...then the trade would go as follows>>>>>>

***Forum Member A needs a 2006-W $10 Plat First Strike on PCGS MS70, but only has the same in PCGS MS69. Also, this member has an extra 2006-W $25 Plat First Strike in PCGS MS70.

***Forum Member B needs a 2006-W $25 Plat First Strike in PCGS MS70, but only has the same in PCGS MS69. Also, this member has an extra 2006-W $10 Plat First Strike in PCGS MS70.

We need to know the average sales price of the denominations to trade in PCGS MS69 and MS70. Our forum member keeping great spreadsheets on sales on ebay can handle this one for sure....

Member A trades a 2006-W $10 Plat First Strike in PCGS MS69 for Member B's 2006-W $10 Plat First Strike in PCGS MS70 + Member A contributes cash difference in price as noted above.

Member B trades a 2006-W $25 Plat First Strike in PCGS MS69 for Member A's 2006-W $25 Plat First Strike in PCGS MS70 + Member B contributes cash difference in price as noted above.

Of course, the cash difference is net down and flows to the appropriate member.

Each member keeps complete sets intact.

Taking the last three COMPLETED SALES for each coin in the set in both MS69 and MS70 FS yields the following averages: first price is avg 69 / second is avg 70

I believe that a three coin average skews pricing a little, but in a rising market we'll use it for an example. I personally believe a 5-8 coin average yields better results in up/down trends equally.

As you can see, if you did a "two coin swap" 69 for 70 and 70 for 69, you would be able to do the trade and add cash based on who received move value in the deal.

    I.E. Trade 69 FS $25 for 70 FS $25 and 70 FS $50 for 69 FS $50; person receiving the 70 FS $ 25 and 69 FS $50
pays $48 in cash to person receiving 69 FS $25 and 70 FS $50.

1/26 8:45am COMPLETED SALES AVERAGES (last three sales)

    $10

    646 / 1049 DIFF +403

    $25

    932 / 1815 DIFF +883

    $50

    1346 / 2181 DIFF +835

    $100

    2558 / 3683 DIFF +1125

This thread is a great idea but it's obvious no one
is going to give up their 70's for anything. image
