Interesting finds in half dollar rolls . . .
. . . and I'm not referring to silver, which popped up relatively infrequently.
I found a nice 2004-P, which is the first date more recent than 2001 that I've seen among the thousands of halves that I've checked from local banks.
There was also a 1971-S clad proof--as you might expect, in not quite the shape it was in when somebody cracked it out of its mint holder, but clearly cameo.
There was this 1964 with an average mostly white obverse but with a much more colorful and lustrous reverse than this photo shows:

And a very nice 1978-D that was good enough to provide an upgrade for that date/mm in my Dansco album.
Quasi-junk; but interesting quasi-junk.

I'll see if I can get a truer image of this thing and post it. It's a much flashier and more colorful reverse than this photo shows. Just a bit of brown toning along the rim between 11:00 and 1:00 on the obverse, so I'm guessing it was in a folder-type album?
Until I get a camera with a decent macro setting, I'll just fiddle around with trial and error shots.
Congrats!............roll searching is tedious, but almost always is rewarding.......wes
