Does anyone know what the mintage figures are for the Silver Eagle West Point Mint?
Also, the coin has a burnished finish, appears satiny. Does this make for a higher grade output?
Thanks,
Chris

20th Anniversery Silver Sets - 250,000
20th Anniversery Gold and Silver Sets - 20,000
Single Coins- 200,000
Total Mintage - 470,000
Most of mine came back MS69
PCGS is not grading any as MS70
As far as the finish goes, I have a difficult time telling the difference between the regular 2006 and the 2006-W. I was expecting something notable but there is just not that much difference! The regular 2006 did have a tendency to have milky fields which is not that evident on the 2006-W but other than that, they both look the same to me.
The only thing I know for sure is that there are only 250,000 Reverse Proof SAE's!
The name is LEE!
The name is LEE!
I have seen very few reverse proof silver or gold up for auction.
Is this a good sign for those of us that are buried in RP's?????
Of course I could be wrong.

<< <i>The mintage figures quoted above sound right except that the mint is still selling the proof coins. Does anyone know the mintage limit (if there is one) of the 2006-W Proof? >>
There was stated "no limit" per the mint.
<< <i>Will the shipping of the " W " be happening soon? I have had a order since November >>
Me too. My order 10/31, shipping date had changed to 1/16/07. But STILL doesn't say they shipped them.
(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?
<< <i>in the mean time i bought a 6-7 ms70 silver anniv.unc.at 300.00 each >>
Who were these graded by?
and at the moment there are a few Rev. Proofs
avail. Bidding hasn't ended, but I see a couple
for around $910 with a day or so to go. May
buy 2 sets... see ebay link here.see ebay link here.
Gold. And lot's of it.

An original set in the display case is really cool. Maybe one day the TPGers will produce a round holder that fits into the Mint display cases.

Good question.
I had my first 10 sets graded (and sold...kept one 69-69-69 across the board after the wife decided on a new car and I've been selling a few things to get the payment money) and just had a BIN hit on an unopened box of 5 sets on ebay for $1400. I thought I priced it high (didn't really want to sell it) and was ready to take it down tonight if no bids, and send in for grading.
I still have another box of 5 sets that I may send in for grading. I would like to keep a set raw but, economically, the grading and/or selling in unopened USMint packaging is just too strong.
The boxed 2006-w SAE seems to also be doing well. Some guy I met at the coin show today had just bought 10 for $22 earlier this week he said (all the person had). The guy who bought them wasn't a dealer...he was buying for himself and grandkids. I told him sell a couple and keep what he wanted. I bought 3 for $35 today from a dealer as well. Figure I could flip one or two
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Thanks,
Chris
