Another Cleaned Coin

VTCoins

This coin came in from the same customer who brought the collection in that included this twenty cent piece.

This would have been a really nice coin without the cleaning.

Too bad. I hope he knows better now.

How sad. From the pic, it actually does not look completely ruined. Maybe still slab as a 58?

Doubtful. The hairlines are evident under magnification. Definite cleaning.

Some bad guy could sell this coin on eBay and get MS64 money for it!

Ugh, that one pains me to see.

I'd probably still buy it though simply because I collect washingtons from the 30's and 40's

How can you tell its been cleaned?

BlindedByEgo

Send it to SGS, they'll give it an MS70

You are right about that Ebay thing - but you're one of the good guys, so I know it wont happen.

It is hard to tell from the pics, but if you rotate the coin under light, you can see the hairlines.
