eTopps & CardTarget.com

I noticed this forum does not have many posts regarding eTopps. Has anyone taken any cards "in-hand" and submitted to PSA for grading? If so, how did you break open the eTopps case?

Does anyone know anything about CardTarget.com? How big of an organization are they? Any contacts other than sending e-mail to staff@cardtarget.com?

Thanks!

If you look at the pop reports there are PSA holdered etopps cards. I know for sure this is the case with many Favre Etopps cards. I have not done so yet. The holders that you get the cards in are like the ones topps used for their uncirculated box toppers around 2003. They are easy to crack with a screwdriver. There is just a foil sticker that is used to prevent tampering. If it really can who knows. I do know for the cards that I have gotten in those that I have removed it does appear that the tape cant be reused with out noticing it was removed. But then again I wasnt being careful.

I have a question if you are still around on these boards? Or for whoever has done this b4.

I have exactly 55 eTopps cards that have and I plan on cracking. I plan on submitting them all to PSA. Is the cracking process difficult to do without damaging the card in the case? I am pulling/praying for psa 10s on them all. Any advice on this would be most helpful from someone who has done this before. Thank you - Tim

They are not very secure cases, hence the foil sticker. Good luck on your submission, all 10's might be a little lofty?

I know I know I doubt all will be 10s one can hope though image

Basically there are 11 cards with 5 examples per card hence 55 cards. I hope to get at least one psa 10 for each of the 11 cards. Then I am going to sell the rest image

    Seems a reasonable goal.

As an eTopps outsider, it is strange to see some go for a couple dollars and others for over a $100. I need the Young etopps (in hand) card sometime, but I can't justify ~$80 for one.

I am collecting Jeter. Jeter has 11 cards on etopps currently. I have 8 of each card. The 2001 card was/is the pain. on etopps auctions they was going for 20-30ish per card when I purchased 8 of them. Now it sells for 45ish per card. Inhand only one on ebay wants 64 bucks plus shipping for it LOL. My plan is to keep 3 examples of each card at etopps facility and the 5 examples grade and hope for 10s. I been sticking with this plan since 2007 when I started the psa basic and collector issues set for Jeter.

I still to this day can't understand why these eTopps cards are considered to be a base card for Jeter's basic and collector's issues set on the registry. They are such a pain in the arse to win then have delivered then have to crack case (which I have yet to do). Makes no sense to me but I am willing to jump these hoops for them image

The Steve Young was/is accumulated heavily. They only made 592 of them and I wouldn't be surprised if 300-400 are owned by one guy. So trying to get one of the remaining ones is tough. And since that one guy has so many, he's probably at the point of no return and trying to protect his investment by bidding on any that come up for auction and keeping the price high
