1965 Donruss Disneyland

I am interested in starting a set of these cards. Anybody have any info on these cards? Most of the raw cards I see have at least one really rough side cut. Any hints or help would be great. Thanks

Not a bad looking set; I've thought of collecting it myself. Donruss is notorious for rough cuts and that may be the simple explanation for that.

Cool set...I've got 5 PSA 8s of this set. I hope to get the rest in all PSA 8 at least. I like 'em! image

With some cards having only one or two graded examples, This does not seem like the set for me to attempt with limited funds. I looked all over the net and found very few raw cards, even fewer that would grade PSA 6 or better. I found a few packs graded by GAI going for $70-90. Thanks for the help.

The problem with ebay searches is that they are limited to such a specific and short time period. If you really think this is a set for you, I'd set up a favorite search and wait for some quality to come along. It probably is a good set for a limited budget, but maybe not one for a limited acquisition time frame.

    Hello,

I have some of these cards and was thinking about getting some graded and have a few questions:
    1) Is it worth it to join PSA?
    2) How difficult is it to get a card grading at 9 or 10?
    3) Does having the card graded increase the value significantly?
    4) What should I look for when submitting cards? Like the original poster said, some have one rough side although the 4 corners are crisp. I just don't want to submit cards and hope for 8+ and get a bunch of 2 and 3 ratings back.
I'm very new to this, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm now up to about 40% complete in PSA 8 minimum and have another 18 raw cards that I'm thinking of submitting (PSA vs SGC, still debating). What are your thoughts on these? Does the rough cut automatically bring them lower than 8? Will these be PSA 8s (or maybe a surprise 9 in there?).....

Couple of recent additions (one is an upgrade) for my '65 Disneyland Set. The good thing is that one has a little bit of a rough edge and it wasn't marked down for it. Which gives me hope that I'll have a shot to score a 9 or two from the raw ones that I plan to submit.

Arny-Thats a cool card of the submarine view, it's too bad Disney got rid of that ride, I like it alot when I was a kid. You know if you go behind Disneyland, where all that dirt was dumped from that submarine ride, you'll find loose change scattered all over the place. My brother must have picked up a few hundred bucks in quarters on the ground.

The Submarine ride is no longer at Walt Disney World, but is still going on at Disneyland. They brought it back after a few years of inactivity. Now, it has a Finding Nemo theme to it. But, I agree..it's a cool one! image

I sent in about 18 cards (I believe they are the ones pictured in this thread) and I hope I can pull 8s on all of them! (Maybe a sneaky 9 or 8.5 would help too! image )

    Good Day,
I have Arny's 18 cards, they are going in with a 100 card sub next week. The rough cuts should not be a major consideration with this set, it seems to be factored in as with a lot of Donruss stuff and even OPC stuff on the sports side. I have seen nasty looking one side rough cuts, come back with Mint 9, even a few Gem 10's.
Arny, your cards should all come back at least NM-MT 8's and I think there are at least 4-6 that lean towards MINT 9's as well.

I may go for this set. It's reasonably priced and not too hard to find (the puzzlebacks, anyway).
