Friday at the Waldorf

Attended what for me is the social event of the year. Perhaps you have heard of it; the NYINC!
Met Mr. Eureka and 1960NYGiants at the Smythe table. Spotted Civitas, but he looked so intense at some dealer's table that I did not want to interrupt him. Since I am held hostage to the Oyster Bay line of the LIRR, I could not stop for lunch. I already had problems there when they cancelled my train. I like to be at the opening bell and make a mad dash to the Margolis table, but it was not to be, this year.
Biggest successes: having come too late to successfully battle the crowd at Magolis, I wandered more sedately over to Donald Young. Much to my delight, I was there alone. A long, leisurely browse through his stock, though he told me that someone had come in on Thurday and cherry picked much of it.
Another success, though not as momentous, was finding a Swedish 1 Skilling copper, 1802.
Biggest failure: couldn't find a 4 Skilling copper from between 1849 and 1855. I am putting together a small and limited type set of large Swedish coppers, and I find this item somewhat difficult.
As soon as I get a chance, I will post some medals. Have fun to those who will be in NYC today and Sunday.
