I've collected the plat Proof sets from the get-go. I didn't order the Unc set at first but after watching this board, jumped in both feet.

Got the 2006 w (thanks to all the advice around here) and a set for each year of the proof. They are very shiny image

I'd been collecting both the proofs and the MS plats from the outset, though I sold my run of MS 69s last year to fund another purchase.

The proofs are best looking coins the Mint has produced in decades, IMO. They've been very pricey, though, and a numismatic backwater until the recent frenzy over the 2006-Ws here. You didn't see many posts, beyond an occasion reference to and picture of a proof reverse.

<< <i>Very few dealers have these coins. One of the things that normally has to happen before a coinage issue starts moving
is dealer inventories need to be low. They are and thats a real long term plus you don't see talked about much. >>

The deadline for PCGS First Strikes has wiped out ALL the boxed sets - and singles too!
