Twins fest

I'm thinking about going to twins fest in a couple weeks and wondering if anyone has ever gone. How is the show and how easily are autos to come by?

You have to wait in long lines to get autographs of Twins greats or Mauer/Santana/etc... I think the model is get in line, and whoever time it is to sign when you get to the front is who you get. The dealers tables are literally four to five people deep. There are lots of activities for kids such as batting practice at home plate, a never ending game of wiffleball located around 2nd base, and your typical array of jumpers, speed guns, etc... The food is brutal unless you like under cooked Papa Johns pizza.

It is a blast for my six year old and I enjoy it, but I don't chase autos and don't typically find a lot of cards I'm looking for although I'm sure they are in the building.
  • thanks, i figured the autos would be a pain but wanted to make sure just in case it was worth the hour and a half drive

I go every year. I use to set up every year but last year they raised the price to $400.00 per table so I decided to not set up and just go enjoy the show. The show is a little smaller than it use to be because of the increase in price. They usually have 6 different areas in the metrodome where players are signing. They put out a schedule of where and what time a player will be a few days before the show starts. The lines are long but if you get there early enough you will get an autograph and the price is very reasonable. There are numerous events going on for the kids from the continuous whiffle ball game to batting and pitching tips from college players. They give tours of the metrodome and they have a Q&A time with most of the players which is kind of cool. They also have a time for photos with each player. There are usually 25 to 35 thousand people who attend.
Always looking to buy old Minnesota Twins and Vikings memorabilia like Nodders, Photo Pennants, and Photo Buttons.
  • I love going to it. I miss going to decent card shows and MN has been lacking good shows for many years now. Yes, it is crowded. If you are patient, there is alot to look at and can usually find something of interest!
