How does PSA grade tilted pictures?

Can tilts still get a 9 grade? I havent seen any graded that I can recall, and am new to submitting. Just curious to see if its worth sending in a card with a tilted picture. Sorry, the scan is also tilted as well image

that looks like like a factory miscut. is the left side taller than the right side?
  • Once I pulled it out of the scanner, I did realize it is a miscut from the factory, but I also have some from the same issue that are genuinely tilted.

    Question...

Are the corners square? The upper right corner does not look like a 90 degree angle.

    For the sake of clarity...

A "tilted" card has square corners - i.e. a rectangle - and just the pic is actually tilted.

A Diamond cut card appears to be tilted but the corners are NOT at right angles - thus is rhomboid shaped.

An example of a "diamond cut" card:

edit: your card appears to be a diamond cut - and most will not fit into a holder I believe.

TheMcgwireMuseum.... While I don't have a quoatable answer to your question, I'd have to believe getting a 9 with or w/o a qualifier on a tilted would be tuff. Even if you could, it wouldn't be pretty.

I can tell you though, in reference to that Panini in your scan, those are TUFF cards (stickers) to get perfect. As you know, I have had several Panini's graded in the past and still have several sitting as PSA waiting to pop. I've been though thousands of misc. Panini's, and I truly believe Panini had Helen Keller doing the QC for their products throughout the 80's and early 90's.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!
