New Ebay Format for Bidders

Has anyone seen the new format for bidding action on auctions? Instead of seeing the actual ebay ID of the other bidders while an auction is running its course, now you just see Bidder 1, Bidder 2, etc on the bid history page. Only you and the seller can see your bid. I bet the shill bidders are celebrating!! Now they can shill to their hearts' content, since ebay has basically just made all auctions private by doing this, and only the dishonest seller and the shiller will be any the wiser. Talk about an "improvement" that just made things 10x worse!

Because I'm lost too
You are on point about shill bids, they are now approaching nirvana.
We are all pretty much familiar with those with whom we bid and may also be well aware of their bidding habits. I collect 55 Topps, and know the set stone cold...I also know who bids high and who doesn't. Well, now it'll be like a mystery. To lose this "identity" is detrimental to some degree. Of course sniping will always be sniping. The info provided about who BIdder 1, 2, 3 is has almost no value to me, so what when they became a member, and what their eBay colored star is, they're my "mystery" competition now for cards over the $200 level.
I guess you just set a figure and snipe. At some point, if the shilling gets crazy, I suspect some sellers are gonna get stuck with some fees as their stuff might not sell to anyone but the shill.
Somehow it seems a better way could have been found to deal with those that would scam us. It does remind me of my Army days, many are inconvenienced for the habits of a few. Then again, I must be fair and say I'm not knowledgeable as to the inner workings of eBay.
Time will tell, we're stuck with it, so let's hope for the best.
