1969 PSA 8 Brock- something is bothering me.

I might be paranoid but do the top and bottom borders look a little short to you on the Brock? The two bottom corners have a little wear so if I was to use the "T" word it would be regarding the top border. At first glance it looked like the greatest '69 Brock in the world but then I compared it to a Mike Shannon I happened across. I don't know, tell me I'm wrong because I will probably submit a bid otherwise.

Looks good to me -sometimes the holder insertythings distort the look of the edges. Just my .02.

I agree...probably fine. Before I had my new scanner, it distorted the pic and always had a hard time adjusting it to look correct.

that is a heckuva nice brock, no snowy -ish anywhere!

smr is not really reflecting anything of demand price. $315 was actually an update last year, (i recall may but not 100% sure), to psa 8's, but still not really close, unless you double it (hehe)

if those 2 corners crisper, any assuming 100 million other things holding true for back (of) card, it would fetch nice cheese at psa 9.

I have a Clemente that the top/bottom centering looks identical to that Brock. Your fine.

  • Just to put your mind at ease, I carefully measure every single card I submit to PSA with a clear plastic ruler. If a card is even the slightest but short left/right or top/bottom, I don't submit it. The centering on this Brock is among the best I've ever seen. As has been mentioned, the bottom corners have slight wear, and there is a tiny black print dot in the lower left border -- that's what kept this card from getting a PSA 9 grade.

Or more. I was outbid on the last one and it sold for over $750.

    Julen,

No, I didn't catch those. I don't really follow the variations all that much. Occasionally I get one myself, but I don't actively pursue them. That's quite a price on that card. I sold a pretty nice PSA 8 NQ of that card last year (9/14/06) for $364.95 so whoever got this one paid quite a bit more.
