    Solid choice, Julen!

How were the capital gains on that Roth?

No, seriously, I'm thinking about cutting my losses.

  • I'm in the middle of trying to sell of my store inventory......
I offered a guy $75K-$90K worth of good product for $10K.....

it's been 3 weeks and he's still debating!!

It all depends on what you have and are willing to take for it.

I have a lot of 400-500 basketball sets that are worth say $20-$30K.......
I offered them out at $5K for the package.
Yes, it's basketball...so you have to find the right buyer.....2nd it's alot of bulk....even thought there are numerous sets that book in the hundreds....what do you do with 20- 95-96 Flair sets?? lol

And then it gets to a point where you have to give the deal on it....because there is SOOOOO much to buy out there. Like my offer of $10K....I know it's a dead give away at that price and I'm probably underestimating the whole lot.....BUT....would a buyer rather buy a truckload of someone elses stuff, even at a blowout price....OR would they be better off spending $10K on unopened material and nice vintage stuff?

It's all about finding someone who wants what you have.

I've sold out 3 times....once in 94 when I closed my store. Once again in '98 when I bought my 1st house...and again in 2001 when I got divorced.
EACH and everytime....I later regretted it.....yah, the $$$ then bought some nice stuff...BUT today I could've retired off what I sold in '94 alone!!!

If you can keep it and let it sell off in time...you'll make out much better off in the long run!
  • I sold my almost complete Topps 71 set, still on the all time list, but regretted it. I also sold a partial 54, 55, 56, 70, 73 and 74 Topps sets but did not regret that. not exactly inventory liquidation. I did it to focus on different sets and not be unrealistic about what I could achieve. Still must be painful to sell off cards unless you're in the business, particularly at bargain bin prices and considering the huge monetary investment as well as the considerable time and effort. I sold this through a dealer and in retrospect should have sold them myself, over time.
