    He's been the pillsbury dough boy poster child for a long time.Still a great hitter . For those that can remember Gates Brown and Smokey Burgess were both beefy boys, before they were no longer able to walk to the plate(homeplate).     Yeah. When Kirby died, his buddy Dave Winfield mentioned that Kirby was never a drinker and definitely didn't do drugs, but he just couldn't keep away from the buffet table. Like John Candy, he ate his way to the grave. Quite a shame.

    Has anyone got pics of Don Mattingly a few ago after he retired. As I recall, he really let him go and was pretty enormous. He's slimmed down now obviously, but I do recall being really shocked to see him like that.

    I agree. When I got my Feb. SMR, I at first thought it was Bonds on the cover.

    Yah..muscle mass......not pure bulk!!

    He was always on the heavy side....now, he probably gets alot less exercise and the weight just adds up.

    When you quit hittin the juice, you loose ALL those gains as well. My girlfirend was just filming "the GAMEPLAN" with "The Rock". He must have lost anout 60 pounds of muscle. He is still a big strong guy, but a shadow of his former self. I'll see if she has a pic from the shoot, found this one online
