Go Phillies
I'd take him, but I am fine with LJ Smith.
<< <i>LJ hasn't been signed, and looks like he's being phased out of the offense ! >>
And what exactly could the Eagles offer for Shockey? Nothing they'd be willing to give up, and Shockey is gonna be a part of this team in the same likes of Mark Bavaro.

Bavaro? Oh I don't think so. Shockey is not half the the TE that Bavaro was ......

Really? Bavaro had 4 standout seasons OFFENSIVELY.
1985 nyg | 16 | 37 511 13.8 4 |
| 1986 nyg | 16 | 66 1001 15.2 4 |
| 1987 nyg | 12 | 55 867 15.8 8 |
| 1988 nyg | 16 | 53 672 12.7 4 |
Here's Shockeys first 4 full seasons
2002 nyg | 15 | 74 894 12.1 2 |
| 2003 nyg | 9 | 48 535 11.1 2 |
| 2004 nyg | 15 | 61 666 10.9 6 |
| 2005 nyg | 15 | 65 891 13.7 7 |
| 2006 nyg | 15 | 66 623 9.4 7 |
For the Giants to win a Super Bowl, Shockey needs to be an integral part of the offense like Bavaro was.

You talking about the pre-season game against the Texans. He ran down 3 actually lol. I watch every NY Giants game(as well as going to about 3 at the Meadowlands per season) and he's consistently double covered. He's a player that all defenses have to account for, he opens up the field for the running game as well as the passing game.

Thats fine Topps. He is NO Bavaro. Not even Bavaro's shadow. Did you "see" Bavaro play ? Bavaro would take Shockey to school. That is no overstatement.

I was in my formalitive years when Bavaro was on the G-men, but yes I've watched many games of the Giants from that era.
