Anybody ever buy a set and then grade the whole thing?

I just bought a really nice 71-72 OPC hockey set and was thinking getting it graded. Of course the grading will be more than I paid for the cards. image

Anybody do this with their sets just to have a complete graded set?

    John-

I know a few people that have done that, although it typically isn't always the wisest thing to do from a financial perspective (e.g. the commons that come back at 5, 6 or 7 oftentimes aren't worth the grading fees).

But I guess it also depends on your plans with the set in the long term.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I had several '38 Cartledge boxing sets graded a few years back. A '47 Cummings boxing set as well.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
