Cal Ripken would have had the highest percentage of all time...

...if it weren't for two crusaders who decided to send their ballots back blank. What a great way to show your disapproval for the steroid era - by robbing Ripken and Gwynn of your vote!
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

Highest of all time? This is The Mystique of The Streak. Yes, Ripken was great and a no-doubt deserving first-ballot HOFer, but highest percentage ever? He wasn't THAT unbelievably great.

This whole is he great enough to be unanimous or not question is stupid. Either the guy is a hall of famer or not. Cal is as no brainer as anybody has been. How does Ruth and Williams not get in unanimously. There are alot of guys of which Ripken is one, that should have gotten in unanimously. The whole political factor is idiotic. If the guy is an HOFer you should vote for him if not you shouldn't. End of discussion. It is so political voters have forgotten what the HOF is about.

Nobody will either remember or if they do ....... care about voting percentages down the road when both Ripken and Gywnn's stuff are gawked at in Cooperstown.

Double beers to the both of them ......

voters have NOT "forgotten" what the HOF is about. The voting process has been political and will continue to be political. Its not some kind of trend or anything .....
