Goose you have went blind. How many more years will the Big 10 be slow. USC and Florida both exploited the slowness of the teams they played. It was very obvious.

Should be at #5 at the very best. Boise State is OK but not really up there with the big boys. Of course the east coast pollsters also thought that Michigan and Ohio State were the class of the season and possibly they will have a lovefest with Boise State also.

I can see a bonus game system where the two best BCS bowl winners get to play. They should bring the bowls back to their original conference pairings, the Fiesta can be the at-large bowl, and choose the two best teams from the winners.
College FB is not like the NFL, so any playoff system would be based on the polls anyway.

Is there any other match-up that would have been better than Florida vs OSU? The only one I can think of is either Florida vs USC or LSU. Both of those team played much better than OSU, but no one wants to see a 2-loss team or two SEC teams play for the title.
Michigan was a fraud, Boise State is cute story, and no team in the Big 12 deserved it this year.
Florida exposed OSU and the Big Ten with their "smash mouth football". All these big ten teams play the same football game, the SEC top to bottom is full of teams that WILL take you down. Every week Florida had to play teams like Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, FSU and Arkansas for the SEC title. And the Big Ten and so called experts were saying that they don't belong???
I gurantee that if there was a playoff system two of three of the SEC teams (UF, LSU and Arkansas) would have made it to the finals!
OSU + Michigan = OVERRATED!
The polls were not that far off, number one lost to number two, not the biggest surprize, nor any positive absolute proof that a playoff is needed, it would be nice though.
I believe the Big East had the best bowl record of any conference.
In heads up play against each other, in this season's bowl games, the Big Ten did in fact, beat the SEC two out of three times , no amount of gloating over the final game can change the 2-1 record.

Let's see, if the NFL used this stupid system, we would have taken one month off after the regular season and waited for the Chicago Bears to play the San Diego Chargers. In between, we'd get to see the Cowboys face the Seahawks in the CarMax Game.
My point is that neither Florida or OSU earned a spot to play in that game. Put Boise State in a 16-team playoff system and let's see how cute they really are!

In the time that Ohio State sat on their butts and waited, Florida played in two more games. They may have had a big wait as well but do not understimate the worth of the two extra games. The whole system is dumb. Anytime you can have a team with one loss declared national champion when there is another team that is undefeated it is completely absurd. I don't care who the undefeated team is. There needs to be a playoff.
