During the holidays, my ex visited with the kids.
She works at a grocery store where they have
a Coinstar machine. She get to maintain it,
so any coins that she finds that are junk or
do not pass the weight test fall into the reject
bin.

Here's what she brought me:


About 100 Canadian coins (including silver)


Interestingly enough, a bunch of GB Farthings from the 40s


Also, some steel pennies, war time nickels, old nickels and
several other coins I'm trying to attribute now


I guess I shouldn't call her bad names any more...

That's really cool!!! And think of it, lots of those coins are actually worth real money somewhere in the world.

Looks like she lives in the South somewhere -- lots of Mexican and Cuban coins.

The top bill on the stack is a 1/2 dinar from Bahrain -- worth $1.33 at current exchange rates.

A decnt number of Euro coins, too! How long a time period does all that collected coinage represent? I thought all rejected coins fall out to a slot where the customer (or someone who follows them) takes them back..... do people just leave them there if not accepted? How often does she check? A great haul! I used to work as a retail manager, so I could go thru all the coin drawers while setting-up & counting-out for the day, and way back I found my share of U.S. wheaties, some silver, a number of silver certificates, etc........ I miss that! I'd love to have her type of access to coins, or in a bank........................
