Just heard on ESPN that Bobby will be leaving Louisville to take the Falcons job.

  • I would have thought the Falcons would have learned.....another guy here with no NFL head coaching experience... Do the names Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban mean anything to the NFL world?

Both Spurrier and Saban could've been successful in the NFL. But both had only 2 seasons as head coach, and it's not like they came into an organization that was headed in the right direction. The Redskins? The Dolphins? The Falcons have a capable team, although defensively they need a lot of help.
    Collecting;
    Mark Mulder rookies
    Chipper Jones rookies
    Orlando Cabrera rookies
    Lawrence Taylor
    Sam Huff
    Lavar Arrington
    NY Giants
    NY Yankees
    NJ Nets
    NJ Devils
1950s-1960s Topps NY Giants Team cards

Looking for Topps rookies as well.

How many of the recently fired head coaches had previous NFL head coaching experience? How many playoff teams have new coaches with no prior NFL head coaching experience?

They are hoping he is the next Jimmy Johnson (the Dallas one that is). image
  • Yeah...hoping..but there is a whole lot more of the Spurriers and Sabans then there are Jimmy Johnson's.....Mike Riley, Dennis Erickson, Rich Brooks, Lou Holtz.....you can't count Barry Switzer..he was handed the keys to a Caddy and just had to drive straight for a while.

All coaching hires have an element of hope since there are no guarantees anyone is going to be successful no matter what their
background is. I would say the odds are against him but they want to give it a try.
  • As someone who is a huge Louisville fan I am incredibly dissappointed in him leaving!!! Just 6 months ago on local media he swore up and down that Louisville was his home for at least another 5 years. Bull&^%$!!!! I hate this!!! It seems like every time we get a break the coach leaves the program. We have always been a stepping stone team and I hate that! Here's hoping that his brother doesn't move to Atlanta also. If he stays, it's my prediction that he won't be worth sh*&!!! And good luck buddy in Atlanta with all the apathy toward sports!
  • You just can't stay in Louisville for too long. That stadium was built on a piece of land filled with tons of chemicals left over by the trains. You stay too long, you start to grow a third eye!!!
  • I was actually hoping for a new quarterback instead of a coach, but I'll take him anyway.
  • Well, I guess that explains the third nipple.
