2006 turkey red question

I've been sticking to my self imposed "don't buy any new wax" ban for nearly a year now, and I've somehow went from collecting mostly baseball to mostly football.

However, my son got a retail box of the turkey red cards for Christmas, and just wanted to know if there is anything of value to the base set??? No autos or anything fancy, but didn't know if any of the cards were SP's, whether there might be a rookie to look for, as well as the different colored fronts. Most cards are the same, but some of the borders are red, gold, and black. Just parallels??

Thanks for the help.

Is this baseball of football? Info on baseball is already out. Football is trickier.

It was baseball Kevin, sorry for the confusion.

I googled an sp list and have found the sp's.

What is the significance of the reds, whites, golds, and blacks??? Which parallel is most rare?? Nothing looks numbered.
I realize nothing here is real high dollar, but I don't want to through a $5 card in his common box.

    Base (gray border)
    Red
    White
    Black
    Gold

Golds can fetch a decent amount on eBay, as it is thought that there are about 50 copies per card.

Looking for Jonny Gomes cards, especially Triple Threads and printing plates. Will consider all cards, though. Got something? Contact me at c_u_l_1@yahoo.com

2005 Turkey Red gold parallels were actually serially numbered to 50. For some reason, they left the numbering off of the 2006 TRs. Like LWMM says, it is thought that there were still only 50 copies per player.

    Thanks for the help guys!!

Robert, I appreciate the offer. I'll take you up on your offer if I decide to buy a hobby box or two, I wouldn't want to overwhelm you with a want list after one retail box.

Not high dollar cards, but I got the answers I needed. (thanks, too, for the PM Rick)

I pulled the SP's, a white of Jermaine Dye and Justin Morneau, a black of some guy I've never heard of, and a gold of Jermaine Dye too. Again, not high dollar, but not something to throw into the common stack either.

Again, as always, thanks for all the help.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
