New York Giants Super Bowl chances...

I will say that I haven't followed the NFL this season with the same vigor, but call me crazy in thinking that the Giants have a chance to make it to the Super Bowl.
I see a good possibility of Jeff Garcia getting a dose of reality soon, and for Eagle fans sake I hope that day isn't coming soon. The day is inevitable though. Giants fans are hoping it is of course.
I've developed a fondness for watching Tiki Barber play the last few seasons. He is superb! I would hate to have to play NY just for that fact alone. He is a difference maker in every sense.
If NY gets past Philly, then I think the Bears go down too. Their defense is overrated and banged up. I think they will have a hard time stopping Barber and Shockey. It may become a battle of the mistake makers...Manning vs. Grossman. In that sense the game could be a toss up, though Manning is the better of the two. Grossman has been figured out by defenses, and I don't think that stops now.
I only watched part of the games yesterday. I think the Giant/Philly game will be on while I work out today .
Call me crazy again, but I think Indy could make it there too. Their defense is bad, but Baltimore isn't exactly the '78 Steelers. Same for San Diego. I don't find any team beating them very shocking either.
The hype of a Manning Super Bowl may be too much to stomach, but it may happen. I don't straight gamble anymore, maybe I can live through somebody else's bet on that happening
Soft, you gonna throw down a buck on the Giants to go to the bowl? Give me a little vicarious gambling fix by saying you are! Bri, how about you? Anyone?

Anything CAN happen, but the Giants, always with consant turmoil within, are a true longshot. The AFC has 4 or 5 teams which would be favored over any NFC team, including the 13-3 Bears whom I hope make it to the Final game.
The Giants had the most difficult strength of schedule of the NFL’s 12 playoff teams. Giants opponents had a winning percentage of .520. Indianapolis’ opponents were .500. The opponents of every other playoff team were under .500, including Philadelphia, whose opponents had a winning percentage of .477.
They have as good of shot as any, I do see either the Giants/Saints/Eagles as the NFC Champ.
Injuries definetly cost this team a lot. Losing a starter at nearly every key position(LT, DE, WR, LB all having lost 'gamers' for the season) is what put the Giants in that bad skid. If they run the ball 35-40 times, they will win. They have yet to use this method and only seem to lose when the gameplan is Eli having 40+ passing attempts.

The Giants have been awful ..... agreed.
But zero chance? nahhhhh the NFC generally sucks and no team is dominant. Anything can happen!

No problem. You're nuts, brother. And, I type this with the Giants up 7-0 over the Eagles.
Aren't there some abstract Ron Fairly statistics you should be analyzing with your abacus?

Agreed. Let's win one for the Tiki.
"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

Fair enough. The Giants are awful but the NFC is too so they have a prayer......

Is he really a quarterback?
Has anybody seen him throw the ball in pre season or anything?
That's Jared Lorenzen. He's the backup QB but hasn't thrown a pass all season. He's actually lost weight since they first signed him, if you can believe it. Scouts say he has a really strong arm, but so far he's been known more for his girth than anything else. He's listed at 6'4" 285 lbs in the Giants media guide.

That's one Jared who didn't lose weight at Subway.

<< <i>The Giants have a legitimate shot at winning the NFC and making the Super Bowl, but only because the NFC sucks. If they happened to get hot and make it that far, though, they'd have an ice cube's chance in Hell against any of the remaining AFC teams. >>
Wanna bet?
<< <i>Forgive my ignorance on the Giants, but who the heck is that fat backup quarterback???

He was VERY impressive in the preseason this past year, VERY accurate and strong arm, and he impressed me with his running ability outside of the pocket. He also seemed to click very well with the team and has the attitude similar to Brandon Jacobs. He set school records in total offense, passing yards, and passing touchdowns, eclipsing many marks set by NFL #1 overall draft pick Tim Couch. I'd love to see the G-men actually give this guy a shot, call me crazy but he's a special player.

It certainly would be a better bet to take then taking the Giants to make the superbowl, albeit not much better of a bet.

They had a better shot of winning a game in the "post season" than your ND boys have ever had in their postseasons.
ROFL at least your out from under the bed now.
<< <i>Randy the kiddie stalker and thread hijacker, how are bud....still winning thousands? "Choose your title"
Should choose " we can't win a bowl game"
Told you it was a travesty that ND made a BCS game, don't be bitter because I earn more then your entire family.
Btw thread stealing is not neccessary if you would've posted like a man after ND got blown up.
